Project Manager Drug Development

Raja is a pharmacist with a doctorate in pharmaceutical sciences. He started at Ardena as a Scientific Project Officer and today is a project manager, having worked with the company for almost a decade!

For the last seven years he has been closely involved in analytical and formulation developmental activities. Raja’s main role is designing and managing projects.

Describe a typical day at Ardena – what does your job entail?

My day often begins with checking over ongoing projects, planning activities and organising core team meetings. I am often also troubleshooting problems and providing alternative solutions.

What do you love most about your job?

For me, I love that no two projects are the same, it keeps the job interesting and provides me daily challenge.

What is the biggest challenge you face at work?

Most of the challenges I face at work are related to resources, budgets and time management. I need to ensure everything is in line with customer’s needs.

What three skills do you need most for your role?

For my role, I think you need the skills to manage a team and build commitment within this team. This means you need good communication skills and the ability to negotiate and prevent conflicts.

What did you do before this job? And what made you join Ardena?

I was working as a research scientist in the non-profit sector.
